On our quest for DIY skin care products we found a Yogurt and Oatmeal Scrub. We decided to try it and see how it worked. Here is our cost for this:
1 Bottle of Honey ($1.99)
Canister of Oatmeal (.99 cents)
Oragnic Yogurt ($3.99)
Unfortunately we did not have all the ingredients in the house so we had to go to the store. Even after having to buy the ingredients I felt we saved money because a lot of scrubs are $7.99 and up. But how did it feel? Did it work? Well lets see.
1 tbsp oatmeal, finely ground
1 tbsp live, organic yogurt (skip the flavored stuff)
A few drops of honey
Add the yogurt to the oatmeal in a small bowl and mix together.
Warm a few drop of honey. To do this, warm a spoon under hot water for a minute, then add a few drops of honey to the spoon. (We heated our spoon in a cup to eliminate possible burns)
Stir the honey into the yogurt and oatmeal mixture.
Apply the mask to the face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse off with several splashes of warm water. Follow with a warm washcloth.
Apply moisturizer.
My daughter really liked this. She said her skin felt much better afterwards. Me, not so much. It felt really heavy and even after grinding up the oatmeal it didn’t spread on my face well. It clumped. It is a nice concept but at this point I feel that is all it is. So we are on the look out for a new scrub.
Do you have any DIY facial scrubs you use a lot? If so we would love to know and try them to!
