December Slow Cooker Part 2

I am back with this years December slow cooker menu! YAY! One of the biggest comments I have been getting about this menu is that is so expensive. When you are trying to deliver a post to the entire internet you have to have varied recipes for every tastes.

This menu is just a guide. You do not need to do every recipe. Also, when doing slow cooker recipes you should always be thinking ahead to the next meal. Make enough to freeze and have it on a day when you are either broke or don’t feel like making something new. Or you can use leftovers to make a recipe below and re-invent it.

While slow cooking is easy and for the most part cost friendly, you have to remember you are still using electric. So pick recipes that can make 2 or 3 meals. Freeze left-overs, and most of all just have fun. You know your family better than anyone so use this guide and make a menu that will keep you out of the kitchen this holiday season and your family happy!

Most of all, have fun and Happy Holidays!

Korean Chicken With Campbells Slow Cooker Sauces

I created my Korean Chicken using Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauce as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #CampbellsSkilledSaucers
Korean BBQ Chicken with Campbell's Slow Cooker Sauces- #CampbellsSkilledSaucers

If you noticed I have  a huge December Slow Cooker Menu and I plan on using it a lot! Another thing I plan on doing is making some meals using Campbells Slow Cooker Sauces! They make an simply amazing weeknight dinner and only have about 5 minutes of prep time! My favorite so far is the Korean BBQ. It is advertised to be used with beef but I decided it would be awesome with chicken!

Campbell's Slow Cooker Sauces #CampbellsSkilledSaucers

Campbells Slow Cooker Sauces come in a variety of flavors including:

  • Tavern Style Pot Roast
  • Sweet Korean BBQ
  • Hawaiian Luau
  • Moroccan Spiced Stew
  • Mexican Red Chile Taco

And each package has tips on how to use your left overs, how awesome is that! One package, two dinners, endless possibilities!

I love the fact they take two ingredients. Add your chicken ( or beef, pork, fish) and the sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours and dinner is done. Throw together a side salad ( or a veggie medley like I did) and you have an easy weeknight dinner. That is important during this time of year when everyone is super busy!

They smelled so awesome that my mouth was watering. I had cooked them overnight and then transferred them to a baking platter for broiling at dinner time. I had to be really easy getting them out because they were so tender they were falling off the bone. Literally! Of course that got me thinking about left overs. We had 3 pieces left so I de-boned them, shredded the meat and we had Korean BBQ sliders for lunch the next day. Two meals= happy mommy.

While these sauces do taste delicious, I have other reasons for finding them great. First, they are super easy to use. Secondly, they save me time and lastly, they save me money. I just need the sauce and the meat. Most of the time I have veggies here, so it is nice to go to the store and pick up two ingredients and not spend a fortune! Especially when money is already stretched due to the holiday season.

A Slow Cooker Thanksgiving and Left Overs Too!

Thanksgiving SlowCooker-Facebook

In a few short days we will be sitting around the table and enjoying our Thanksgiving feast. It may be a little small but it’s ours and we will enjoy it 🙂 One thing we don’t love is standing in the kitchen all day. Nana Helen always has at least two slow cookers ( crock pots) going, simmering with Thanksgiving goodness. I wanted to share some Thanksgiving slow cooker recipes with you and hopefully help you stay off your feet a little while Thanksgiving.  Don’t worry I didn’t forget the leftovers because I don’t know about you but I am not cooking anything the day after. I am going to be hitting the sales and let my slow cooker do the work.
