Sweet Devotion- Dishin’ Up Havre De Grace

I am amazed to see that so many people read my blog from Maryland. I have received letters from some asking me about Havre de Grace and where is the best place to get lunch. Well if anyone knows me, knows I love to eat. So I introduce you to “Dishin’ Up Havre de Grace”. This is a series showing you my little town. Where is the best place to go? The best place to grab a bite? Stick around and I will show you. If this goes well I will include Cecil County and some surrounding states.

Sweet Devotion Cupcake and Creperie:

I stopped in Sweet Devotion in Havre de Grace yesterday and bought some cupcakes, as well as a scone. Sweet Devotion is owned by Deward and Theresa Ray. They bake everything fresh that morning and use no preservatives. In fact they tell you on a sign if you are not eating your baked goods in a couple of hours, ask for them to be wrapped up tight.

They not only serve cupcakes, crepes, and scones but also delicious sandwiches. You can try one of their signature sandwiches, such as the Sonoma: Cranberry-Walnut Chicken salad topped with tomato and lettuce. They also have ciabattas and wraps.

Sweet Devotion: My Visit

I stopped in Devotion yesterday for some sweet treats. I took home the following cupcakes:

  • Almond Joy
  • Strawberries -n- Cream
  • Lemon Sunshine
  • Mounds

The lady that waited on me was very nice and took extra care to get my order right. She placed my cupcakes in a nice container and made sure they did not get ruined. I also ordered a scone with cranberries and white chocolate chips. It was bagged nicely with a generous serving of Lemon Curd and cream. I ordered an Iced Chai Tea but it was so good I finished it before I got home.

It only took moments to pay and I will admit the lady that took my payment was a little scattered. I did not really mind because it was quite busy but a “Hello, how are you?” would have been nice. However, once it quieted a little she became quite friendly when taking my card and finishing me up.

The cupcakes were fantastic. They were fresh, the icing was not to sweet, and I loved how they had a little icing, etc, in the middle. The scone was to die for. It was full of cranberries and white chocolate chips. Topped with the cream and the lemon curd, well lets just say it didn’t last long.

If you are ever in Havre de Grace and are looking for a place to get something sweet, I would recommend Sweet Devotion. We do have other places, and I will touch on them but this makes the top 5.

You can visit Sweet Devotion and find out what they have to offer HERE. Take a peek at their lunch menu. If you would like to say hi and tell them you saw them here, you can find their Facebook HERE.

The cupcakes look positively delectable! I love the creative flavors. The scone and iced tea sound especially good too. My favorite place to eat is Panera – we don’t have any place like this in my small town. Have a great week!
