Making carbonated water and soft drinks is simple! Turn tap water into sparkling water in under 30 seconds, with no clean-up. Enjoy the freshness and convenience of homemade soda and protect the environment at the same time. No heavy bottles to carry, store at home or throw away. Fizz to your taste and add the flavor of your choice to make your favorite drink. Simple to clean and reuse. With a variety of colors and silhouettes, you’ll be sure to find a soda maker to match with any decor.
On a very hot day in June we received our Soda Stream. My girls were way more excited than I was and demanded we open the package immediately. I won’t lie my heart was really not in it due to an unexpected illness of a close family member. However, I busted the box open ( not literally, I am not a super hero) and we got down to business. First of all I was completely shocked at what we were sent:
I honestly thought we would just get the machine and a couple of flavors. My girls eyes were as big as saucers as they rummaged through all the boxes. Inside we found even more:
The system was so easy to put together. I just added the carbonator to the back and attached the bottle filled with cold water ( refrigeration is recommended ) and “BAM” we were ready to make soda! We decided on Ginger Ale because we love that. I carbonated the water by pressing the button 6 times ( it said 3 but I like to live dangerously ) and added the syrup. This is what I ended up with:
Looks just like store bought Ginger-Ale but how did it taste? I decided to let the girls be my guinea pigs, umm, I mean testers, and let them have the first sip. Here is Avery:
Her eyes are so big because she couldn’t believe it tasted just like store bought. Here is Roxie taking her first sip:
The girls were already in love. However, their mother is a harsh critic. So I took a tentative sip ( sorry no picture.) and wow! It really did taste like store bought.
We tried a couple of different flavors after that and loved them all except the Cranberry Raspberry. That one was way too sweet. I really enjoyed the flavored water and saved a ton not buying the fancy kind.
I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to save money on soda or fancy water. We have made at least 15 1 liter bottles and the carbonator is still going strong. It will definitely save you time and money. No running to the store to pick up soda, no gas cost, and definitely no outrageous prices they charge for soda. I haven’t had to trade in my carbonator yet but we have a Bath and Beyond in Bel-Air. As soon as I do that I will let you know how easy it is.
