When there is a break between winter storms, use a high-pressure sprayer to rinse away all the grit, especially on the wheels, wheel wells and undercarriage. High-pressure spray loosens and removes road salt and grime, reducing the chances of permanent damage in hard-to-reach areas.
Add more wax
To get your car through the winter months, use a spray wax to provide additional paint protection. This should be used to complement the polymer wax. Spray wax is easy to apply and wipes off quickly. You can easily get the kids to pitch in and have a cleaning party in the garage one dreary afternoon.
Be mindful of brushing
To clear away snow from your car, use a soft snow brush or a foam brush. Avoid using hard plastic scrapers you might use on your windshield, as they can scratch painted surfaces.
Give it a spring cleaning
When spring finally arrives, give your car a thorough detailing, including washing, cleaning off stuck-on residue with a clay bar, applying a compound and waxing. This will remove all traces of the harsh winter and make your paint look its best.
How do you keep your new car looking new for the next 3-6 years? It is kind of like taking care of yourself. You go to the doctor for annual visits, you brush your teeth, you take a shower, etc. You do “maintanence” on yourself to keep yourself young and healthy. You should do the same for your car!
Warming Up Your Car
We all do it in the winter but did you know that leaving your car idling for more than 5 minutes can age it? It is true. You should never warm up your car for longer than 5 minutes. I know in the winter it is hard to get in a cold car but thankfully newer cars heat up fast. So only warm it up in 5 minutes or less.
Practicing poor tire maintenance.
If you drive on improperly flated tires you are not only aging them but are wasting gas. Always check the air and tire pressure to get the most out of your tires. Fix any issues you see right away! Also, stop speeding! Not only could you get yourself or someone else killed, it causes you to have to stop abruptly, etc. This can really wear your tires out and your brakes. So don’t do it.
Riding the brake or clutch.
Like speeding when you ride your brakes you are wearing them down. We can all tell who you are by the incessant flickering of red lights we see while driving behind you. If you drive a car with a manual transmission riding the clutch will wear it down and it can be costly to repair!
Baking the dashboard.
I always thought those cardboard sunshades – say, the goofy ones that look like sunglasses – were to keep your car cooler inside for when you get in on a hot day. That’s part of it, but they do far more than protect your comfort. They also keep dashboards from blistering, cracking, fading or getting otherwise damaged by the harsh rays of the sun. They’re a great “investment” (they’re often less than $20) unless your car is always in the shade, which seems almost impossible to me. Keep it in the trunk for those time when your car isn’t in a garage.
AAA estimates over 40 million people travel 50 or more miles for their turkey. When you think about it that is a lot of people, miles, and turkey. Whenever you hit the road you hope for smooth sailing but sometimes the road is not a great place. You have people that are angry, slow, or just wild. Sometimes it can make even us most peaceful people cuss a little.
So the next time you take your 2016 Jeep Renegade to Grandma’s house remember these tips and you’ll get there safe!
Whether you are going down the street or heading out of town, we suggest taking a few minutes to prepare before leaving your home. No matter the distance you are traveling; don’t hit the roads this Thanksgiving without a full tank of gas. Fuel prices can rise during peak travel seasons, so make sure you check local gas prices for the cheapest in your area. While at the gas station take the time to check your fluids too.
In addition, make sure before setting out that you have the directions. A map is handy, but a GPS system can also help identify gas stations and restaurants on your trip. Most systems can assist in identifying alternative routes if you happen to run into traffic congestion. Finally, before hitting the roads, double check the weather; knowing the weather forecast could affect your travel plans. You never know what may happen, so it is better to take a moment and make sure you are prepared.
Traveling with pets.
Be sure to secure your pets, either with harnesses and seat belts or by placing them in a crate. Animals can be a dangerous distraction when driving and physical threat in an accident, should they travel about the cabin or escape onto a busy motorway. Bring water, food, toys, leash, and clean-up supplies—you never know.
Don’t be distracted.
Cell phones and driving don’t mix, so if you need to send a message or make a call, hand your phone to a passenger or pull over. It’s not worth risking your life or others on the road.
Don’t head out on a long trip without a full tank of gas. In addition to topping off the tank, also check fluids and tire pressures before you leave.
We all want to avoid the “are we there yet?” game at all costs, right? If you are traveling with children, pack plenty of snacks, water, games, and DVDs to help keep them entertained. The same is true if you are traveling with pets. Unfortunately, our pets cannot articulate when they are getting a bit stir crazy. To prevent your pet from stressing, bring water, food, toys, and their leash which will allow you to run out a bit of their energy during your stops along the way. Our pets are an important part of the family. This is why it is important to keep them safe while traveling by securing them with either a harness or within a crate. In addition, this will prevent them from becoming a dangerous distraction while you are driving.
During peak travel times we expect traffic. With a large number of drivers on the roads anything can happen. However, if you stay calm you will be able to handle any situation. Remember keep a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, this will allow you more time to react should something happen. If you are leaving early or driving late to avoid traffic, remember it is just as important to take your time. Make sure you have plenty of rest, and if you feel sleepy, pull over and switch drivers if possible. Finally, buckle up. Always buckle your seatbelt as well as your children’s seatbelts.
Can you believe that it is 2016 already? You know when I started my blog my first post was a Disney post for Brave. So it is only fitting that my first post in 2016 be a disney post. Did you notice I was gone? I took almost a whole month off and boy did it feel good. I was able to recharge and think about my blog goals. I even found my old passion for creating. It was a good time off and I am so happy that I got to enjoy my family.
I even got a new look. What do you think? I wanted to go back to simple. Omg, those super heavy themes were stressing me out. So I went back to a simple, light theme. I really like it and I am in love with my new header. My favorite things, food and disney. The pic of me is from my first Disney event! The Muppets red carpet. One of my best memories!
When I started checking emails I found that Disney had released some AMAZING news while I was gone. Including their 2016 Movie release list but I will save that for another post. I have a lot to tell you, so let’s get ready to rock Disney.

The Jungle Book
You guys know that I am not one for saying I love something just to say it because I post for a certain company. So, I am going to be honest and say that I really did not like The Jungle Book. It was okay, but not my favorite nor one that I will watch. However, after seeing the trailer for The Jungle Book live action movie I may change my mind. It looks really good and who knows, maybe I will become a Jungle Book fan.
Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The wild adventure swings into theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016. Star Wars: The Force Awakens became the highest grossing domestic film of all time!
Umm, did this really shock anyone? The girls and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this movie. If you haven’t seen it (how is that possible?) then you better run! You won’t be disappointed!
Zootopia- New Trailer!!
I can’t begin to tell you how much I am looking forward to this movie! I think the concept is awesome and it looks like it is going to be really cute!
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”), opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
