Three New Clips for Thor 2 and Avery’s Story

As many of you know Avery had a knife pulled on her in school last year and in an instant our life fall apart. I was homeschool and my beautiful daughter, that had already fought bullies so much was shattered. She had a hard time dealing with things and she developed anxiety because of it. It was a hard situation. I sent her back to school this year because she needed to get back into the swing of things, especially if she wanted to go to technical school for cosmetology next year. The transition was not easy and it was a constant battle. When Alianna was being homeschooled she fell in love with The Avengers and Thor. She has a huge crush on Loki and the actor that plays him. When she recieved her phone I started using a program called Textagram to bolster her self esteem and ease anxiety. When she started crying, not wanting to go to school, I took it one step further and started sending her silly Loki-grams. It is such a silly and trivial thing but it makes the day easier because she knows they are coming and when she gets anxious, upset or scared she imagines Loki wouldn’t be. Kind of silly? Hell yeah. Does it work? Hell yeah. If it helps I am all for it. When I was her age I used to sit in school and dream about Johnny Depp coming in and taking me away, so there you go. Such a tiny thing that no one would really care about, but to her it is a lot. Sometimes I really wish I could thank Tom for his help.

Here is one I sent her this week, it made her giggle:

She was having a bad day and she thanked me for making her giggle. That to me is worth everything. Thor 2 is coming to theaters November 8th and Avery doesn’t know but I plan on taking her out of school to see it. She deserves the treat and I know it is going to mean a lot to her. I watched these three clips and I must say I am just as excited to see it. Even though if it was me, I would totally be all about Thor and dreaming of him stealing me away. LOL! Ahhh, to be young again!

Marvel’s THOR: THE DARK WORLD Ultimate Mentor Adventure

As some of you already know I am a Disney Mom and post on my social media quite a bit about upcoming movies, sneak peeks, etc but imagine what a “squee” I did when my friend ( who is also a Disney Mom Blogger) sent me this press release and asked me if I had seen it? OMG! Do you know how perfect this is for Roxy? If you have been reading my blog lately you already know that Roxy is a huge Science geek and attends an elite magnet program dedicated to Agriculture Science. She dreams of using plant life as cures for modern warfare. Yeah, I don’t understand it either, but there you go!

I am totally going to encourage her to apply for this because I think it would be so awesome for her! In fact, I think it is amazing that they are doing this. It makes me sad that girls are sometimes pre-conditioned to believe they are supposed to be “dumb” when it comes to Math and Science. Any program that empowers them to excel in those subjects, as well as technology and engineering, is a hero to me!

Here is the complete press release!

Iron Man 3 In Theaters Now

Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968.

The girls and I are huge fans of Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. is incredible as Tony Stark and the movies have a lot of heart. Unfortunately we will not be seeing the movie in theaters but will be anxiously awaiting the DVD. Movies are a luxury we can’t really afford right now, however that doesn’t mean I don’t keep up with all the latest gossip surrounding the movies we are waiting for.

I have always been a huge movie buff. My first movie in a Theater was Nightmare On Elm Street and I was 10. Yes, I was really only 10 when I saw that movie. My Dad had taken me to see a G-rated flick but the movie was sold out. He swears I threw a temper tantrum but I don’t recollect that and he gave in and bought the tickets. I didn’t know half of what was going on in the movie and the cuss words had no importance to me. In fact I hardly remembered the plot and it wasn’t until I watched it again years later I could tell you what it was even about. I was more fascinated with the fact that I was watching something on this huge screen. How did they learn to act all that out? What were special effects? How did they do that? After that I started researching films and the way they were put together.

Even now, at 38 years old I still get fascinated by movies. Avatar was a complete trip for me because I was amazed at the beauty of the movie. In my spare time you can find me catching up with my favorite films or catching a new one on DVD. We sometimes have movie nights here and it is so much fun. I am sure that Iron Man 3 will make it into our collection, standing proudly against the first two. Until then I will continue to read the reviews and soak up the magic that is Disney 🙂

Are you going to watch Iron Man 3?
