I will be the first to admit I am not super crafty. Oh, how I try, though. I have tried jewelry making, crocheting, knitting, scrapping, well you name it, I tried it. But I have just never been really good at anything. I had an eye for color and design but for some reason I could never pull it together. Needless to say, my girls were not the girls that had the super cute holiday craft items at school. They would bring home all of these cute little crafty items other parents had made and I would get so jealous.

I finally found my beautiful red carpet dress and I can’t wait to show you! Here it is:
Isn’t it beautiful! I really do feel like a princess in it. It is going to be perfect for the #CinderellaEvent! The only thing I don’t like is that my arms show. I am a little self-concious about my arms. So I thought I would make me a pretty shawl to go with it. As with any crochet pattern I decided to try it out with practice yarn before using the good yarn. I have to say I really loved how it turned out and I can’t wait to make one with the glittery silver thread I purchased!
I decided to have a Free Crochet Pattern of the Week here on the blog. I love to crochet even though I suck at reading patterns. I only do small projects that are easy and quick. It helps me de-stress and wind down in the evening! I thought it would be great to share some of the crochet patterns I find with you!
If you need to learn how to crochet, check out my Learn to Crochet post and get started.
I added the pom-poms to give it more of a finished look. I am not sure who owns the pattern or if it is online because I learned how to do those many years ago. I am sure if you Google you can find one.
When I first decided to learn to crochet I went by the seat of my pants. I bought some yarn, a hook, and a book. What I didn’t realize is that I would need more. Like a large eyed needle, a row counter, and small pair of sharp scissors. I also should have bought the cheaper practice yarn.
