It’s A Phone! It’s a Tablet! It’s The Ascend Mate 2

Huawei-Ascend-Mate-2

Being a Mom, a blogger, and social media nut takes a lot of work. So I need my devices to work hard and work well. The one area that lacks is my phone. I have had several in the last year and even though I loved each one, they had their faults. Some faults I could deal with, others drove me nuts. My mobile carrier requires I purchase my own phone and when the iPhone 6 came out I wanted it, badly. But it wasn’t available through my carrier and even if it was I couldn’t afford it. I was a pretty sad mama. But then I was introduced to the Ascend Mate 2 by Huawei ( pronounced WAH-WAY).

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Huawei Device USA. The opinions and text are all mine.

The Ascend Mate 2 comes unlocked which means you can use it with any GSM cellular carrier. That includes prepaid plans, how cool is that? I use it with Walmart Family Mobile and it works great! All you do is pop your SIM card in and go. It is really easy to do!

I am in love with the 6.1 HD screen. It is like having a mini tablet, hence the word “phablet”. I will admit it took a little bit to get used to making phone calls on it. I felt like I had a huge device stuck to my ear. I quickly got used to it though and now when I use a smaller phone it feels weird. Speaking of a smaller phone, there is a huge difference between the Ascend 2 and a regular cell phone. Well one I am used to using.

I guess you can see why I had such a hard time getting used to it! It also has a 13 MP camera. It is perfect for snapping simple blogging pics or pics of the kids on the go. It also has a front facing camera that is perfect for selfies. Not to mention a beauty setting so you can look your best! It takes great pics! Here is an example:

This phone has plenty of custom options. You can set your screen up with folders or apps, change your wallpaper, and have all of your vital contacts/information at your fingerprints. I also love that it has two different screen styles. Simple and standard. Simple is all of your apps and looks mostly like every other cell phone. The Simple style reminds me a lot of Windows 8.

This device keeps me connected, is easy to use, and looks great. But you want to know what I love the most? The battery life. It has a 60 hour charge. That is 2.5 days of cell phone bliss. Now, some apps will drain the battery quicker and you may have to charge it sooner but I used it a lot for at least 2 days before I had to charge. Also, it is great for playing games. The 6.1 inch screen displays them amazing and the battery life means you won’t drain your cell phone. This is perfect on the road because you don’t have to tell one of the kids “You can’t use my phone for games, I need the battery.” Here is my daughter playing two of her favorite games on the phone. As you can see the graphics are amazing and game play is smooth.

You are probably thinking this is going to run you are $600 right? Wrong! The Ascend Mate 2 costs only $299.99. I know that is still a huge hunk of change but seriously. Considering what some of the cell phones on the market are going for, this is an incredible steal! You can give that special person on your holiday list the phone they have always wanted without breaking your bank! I am so thrilled with this phone and can’t wait to take it on the road with me next year! I think we are going to be amazing partners!

Happy Holidays!
