Amazing Adult Coloring Books
I am going to be honest, the holidays and everything going on here stressed me out. Thankfully I found a bunch of amazing adult coloring books on Amazon and I have been coloring to relieve the stress. It has been amazing. I don’t understand about light, shadows, or what is the best media to use to color, but I have been having fun and that is all that matters. Of course I had to share my fun new hobby with all of you and picked out 15 of the most AMAZING adult coloring books on Amazon! I have even included some great color media to get you started!
I really, really wish I had a list like this when I first started buying. I bought a couple and well let’s just say I ended up throwing them out. The paper was no thicker than cheap printer paper and the pages weren’t perforated. Which is fine but I like to frame mine and you need good paper so your colors don’t bleed.
When starting out don’t put a lot of pressure on yourself. I thought I needed to do all this shadowing and adding light. It really sucked the fun out of it. Now I just let my creativity flow and if the shading doesn’t look like it’s supposed to, oh well.
Also, just because you have 72 colored pencils doesn’t mean you have to use 72 colored pencils. I have found choosing around 10 t0 12 colors makes it easier and more fun. Also, choose what you like. If you like darker colors go with them. Don’t use pastels because you think that is what everyone else is going to like. Do this for you! If you like color palettes you should follow my other blog Glam Girl Creations, I am adding color palettes on there soon!
To be honest what you color with is a personal choice. I really love colored pencils and tend to use them most. However if you like your colors brighter and bolder you may want to use markers. No matter if you use crayons or markers you will need a blending tool to make everything even. I included my favorite in the list below. And don’t forget a good sharpener for your pencils. The ones from the dollar store will mess them up, so spend the money on a good sharpener.
Coloring is fun and relaxing. I have tried a lot of hobbies but I have to say that coloring has relieved more stress than any of them.
Full disclosure- the following links are affiliate links and I will earn a few pennies on any purchases. This really helps send my kid to college, no joke.
